Port 631 is used by the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) to provide network printing services over the Internet. It allows users to print documents from their devices to printers that are connected to a network or shared on a computer. The port is used by the IPP server to receive print jobs from the client devices and transmit them to the printers.
