Port 27 is not a well-known port and is not assigned any specific use or service. It is typically unassigned and available for use by any application or service that requires a communication channel. However, some older sources indicate that it may have been used for the “NSW User System FE” protocol, which was a part of the obsolete X.25 packet switching protocol used for communication in outmoded computer networks.
