Port 2617 is used for the management of remote networks through the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), which is an interdomain routing protocol used to exchange routing and reachability information among autonomous systems (AS) on the Internet. More specifically, port 2617 is used for BGP remote router configuration and monitoring purposes using the BGP router management protocol (BGMP).
