Port 2360 is commonly used for the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypted version of the Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) in data backup and recovery. NDMP is a protocol used for controlling backup and recovery of network-attached storage devices such as tape libraries, disk arrays, and virtual tape libraries. The encryption of NDMP communications over SSL ensures the security and confidentiality of data during transmission between devices.
