Port 162 is used for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps. SNMP is a protocol used for network management and monitoring, allowing devices to communicate information about their performance and status to a central management system. When an event of interest occurs, such as a critical error or a device becoming unavailable, the device can send an SNMP trap message to alert the management system. Port 162 is used for receiving these trap messages.
