Port 1002 is used for communication between Cisco devices using the Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP). CDP is a proprietary protocol used by Cisco devices to share information about neighboring network devices and their capabilities. Port 1002 is the default port used for CDP traffic, although it can be changed if needed.
