Port 1483

Port 1483 is used for communication between a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) and a modem or router in an Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) network. This port is specifically reserved for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) traffic. PPPoE is a protocol used to establish a network connection over an Ethernet network.
